This video provides a tour of the EdTech Training Center. This training server is a safe and instructional environment where teachers, student-support specialists, and administrators can practice playing Minecraft. Members who join the server can train in exploration, gathering of resources, crafting, and the construction of structures. Players also learn how access server commands as server operators so that they can manage and control their own servers. Anchor Charts Anchor charts  are great for students who need help in "anchoring" their learning to experiences and topics. These visual resources provide students with relevant and current learning content whenever they need them. Anchor charts also help students make a connection  between  past learned content to their current learning content. 1. Open your  Capture  app. Rotate your iOS device to record video, or tap on the ALL VIDEOS icon at the bottom of the screen to choose a video you already took. Then choose the video you would like to upload from the video list on the right.    2. You can add music at the top of the screen. You can also edit the video by adding a new clip or adding an existing clip.     3. Title your video, change your privacy settings, choose a social media site to share your video, and then tap on UPLOAD at the top right corner.   

1. Open your YouTube app and tap on the Uploads menu button on the sidebar. You will then find and tap on a button that has a up-facing arrow with a line under it. 2. This will provide you with a group of apps where you can locate video on your device. 3. Choose your video.       4. Type in the title of your video. 5. Choose one of the viewing options (Public, Unlisted, or Private). 6. Then tap on UPLOAD at the top right corner.     

Today Mrs. W asked me to help her 3rd grade students create a "Plant Life" graphic organizer.  Folders I first had them create a "4th Grade" folder in their "My Drive." Inside this folder, they created a "Science" folder that contained their plants graphic organizer.  Google Document Tutorial Here is what I taught the students during the integration session: Insert a table of contents (Insert > Table of contents) Change the text style to "Heading 1" (This allows your headers to automatically appear in your TOCs) Change the cell background color (highlight the cells > right-click > Table properties...) Find appropriate images to insert into the table (Tools > Research) Add more font styles into your list (Fonts > More Fonts) 

1. Open the Camera app 2. Take a picture of student holding a sheet that includes student's name, class, and room number. 2. Open the Settings app 3. Scroll down and tap on Brightness & Wallpaper, Wallpaper, Camera Roll, and choose the photo your student took of him/herself. 4. Write down student info onto a label and place it on the back, bottom corner of the iPad. I recommend placing tape over the label as well.

Crash Course is a YouTube channel that posts entertaining videos of two brothers, John and Hank Green, teaching topics in core academic subjects. These subjects include U.S. and world history, chemistry, biology, ecology, and literature.  Classroom Application: Background Knowledge In  " Building Background Knowledge for Academic  Achievement ,"  Robert J. Marzano explains how the background knowledge of students in a topic can indicate how successful they will be in acquiring new knowledge.  Since research shows that there is a correlation between academic achievement and background knowledge, it is important for teachers to provide students with information prior to the start of a lesson or unit. What better way to do this then require students to watch entertaining (and informative) Crash Course videos! chrome://flags Google Gooru  recently posted an awesome article about enabling experimental features on Google Chrome. Here are the steps to enable features: Go to  chrome://flags Find a feature you would like to enable in the list provided Click on 'Enable' Restart your Chrome browser WARNING: It is important to note that these features are experimental! The warning at the top of the Chrome webpage explains that these features can "change, break, or disappear at any time." And the most frightening of all is that "your browser may delete all your data, or your security and privacy could be compromised in unexpected ways." If you are a teacher who wants to connect your Google+ Page to the your class YouTube channel, then this blog post is for you. This option gives me another way to separate my personal life and my work life. I always felt uncomfortable having my personal Google+ account connected to my YouTube channel. According to the  Official YouTube Partners & Creators Blog , this option also allows you to add multiple managers to your channel, choose a name for your channel, and improve video sharing capabilities.  Steps you will need to take ( via YouTube Blog ):  1. Go to the YouTube  advanced account settings  and click on "Connect with a Google+ page (beta)." If you do not have this button,  click here  to see why you might not have this link.  2. Select your existing Google+ page, and then click "Next."   2. Click "OK." This will let your YouTube channel display the same name and photo of you Google+ page.

Incorporating Graphs/Charts (Math) with Biomes (Science) My second grade class has been learning about biomes for the last month. I decided to have my students create a graph or chart that compares the number of deserts in each continent. Mike Rugnetta's  video  inspired me to think about how Minecraft can be used to teach economics. If you have played Minecraft (adventure mode) before, you would know that the 3D procedurally generated world contains limited resources for you to use to survive. This means that your tools, food and natural resources can be used up.
