Tell Google What To Do With Google Now

Google Now  is part of the Google Search app that provides users with informational cards that based on the users' search history.  You can also use the tool to command Google to do tasks straight from your phone. The screenshots below provides you with all the commands you can give to Google Now. Just say "OK, Google."        

2 More Google Chrome Extensions!

In an article by  Lifehack ,  100 Chrome Extensions That You Should Install , I found two cool extensions (yes, only 2!) that I installed onto my Chrome browser. Here they are: Smartr Inbox for Gmail You can find your Facebook and Twitter contacts and updates in your Gmail page. However, you will need to sign up for a Xobni account.  Search by Image (by Google) You can find your do a Google search based on an image you find on the web. Right click an image and click on "Search Google with this image."

Rearrange Your Google Black Bar

Did you know you can rearrange the items on your Google black bar? You will need to go to the Chrome Web Store and download the  Big G Black Bar Sorter  extension. After the extension is installed, you can click, drag, and rearrange the items of the Google black bar.

Searching with Google by Reading Level

Teach your students to search Google for content that is appropriate to their reading level.  There are two ways of using this tool: 1. Type the term in the search box. Click on 'Search tools' and then on 'Reading level.' You will be presented a horizontal bar graph that shows the percentages of basic, intermediate, and advanced results.  2. Click on the settings icon on the right and then on 'Advanced search.' Go to the 'reading level' section of advanced search and choose one of the options.
