Virtual Museum Using Google Slides Presentation

Last week, my colleague, Javier Hernandez, presented a PD on virtual museums using Apple's Keynote. I thought this would be a great idea for our 5th graders who are currently studying the different cultures of the world. But instead of using Keynote, I thought it would be easier for the students and teachers to use Google Slides. Using office suite applications on your computer can be troublesome during the submission process (multiple emails, multiple versions, etc).  The following is the Virtual Museum template I created using Google Slides. The "Main Lobby" is where you can access the different rooms. Here is an example of a word cloud I created of my edtech blog: As you can see in the second image, you can customize the font, theme, color, orientation, and shape of your word cloud. Be a surgeon, mobile phone designer or weather forecaster! (Simulation-Based Learning Unit)

Learn how to utilize web-based simulation games to help improve student engagement in meaningful learning, and develop their meta-cognitive skills. These web-based simulations provide students with real world experiences that encourages discovery learning.  I have created a simulation-based learning unit that allows students to take on the role of people in different occupations. Students will learn about the benefits of operating simulation games in an educational setting through my presentation .  In these simulations, students will complete lifelike tasks that will provide them with an idea of what it is like to work in different career fields. Simulation-based learning will also help students authentically reflect on the career knowledge and skills that they learn. Teachers! Make sure to install extensions to block ads for these games!
