Design Thinking Workshop & Training

Last summer, I worked with Invent Learning Hub (ILH), a K-8 charter school in Indiana, to provide its educators two-day workshop on design thinking and project-based learning. In this video, I show how ILH educators got to experience the creative problem-solving methodology themselves through a design challenge. Here is part one of the workshop.

Python Coding with 4th Grade - Student Empowerment

Last year I got to work with a 4th grade student on her passion project, coding. We learned Python using rep.it and Codeacademy. The student ended up teaching her classmates what she learned during our time together. This was an example of how designing learning experiences, especially with technology, is an important part of developing student empowerment.

Every Educator Is a Designer - ADE Showcase 2019

This is the ADE Showcase presentation that I gave at the 2019 ADE Institute in Gold Coast, Australia. The following is the live version.

This one is the slideshow version.

Every educator is a designer; a designer of learning experiences where students go on an engaging learning journey that lead them to do something that they thought was not possible of themselves.

Ultimately these experiences will build the foundation for their growth mindset and give them the confidence and courage to tackle new problems and challenges.

Edupermaculture is an education design approach that provides educators a philosophy and framework to design, implement, sustain, and improve meaningful and authentic learning environments to develop empowered citizens who are prepared for the complex challenges they will face in the future.
